Position Summary

Located in Motueka, our packaging and paint facility prepares a range of timber products to our customers in the Outdoor, Componentry, and Architectural markets.

Your Key Duties Will Include:

• Lift, feed, and stack timber into, or out of, paint machine.
• Tally, strap, and wrap timber to company specifications.
• Use packaging materials including hand tools, adhesives, wrapping and padding.
• Safely operate packaging and strapping machines.
• Design & build various packaging aids including skids & trolleys.
• Prepare and adjust paint or machine set up to ensure products meet customers’ quality standards.
• Follow machine procedures and complete all documentation correctly and to a high standard.
• Monitor stock of machine consumables and PPE, and inform manager when low
• Report to work punctually and prepared to optimize production time.
• Look after yourself and others by following procedures, thinking before acting, and noticing then reporting hazards.

Hours:

• 5am – 3pm (Monday - Friday), 47.5 hours per week.

Pay Range:

• $26.00 to $28.00 per hour

Qualities and Skills We Are Looking For:

• Timber industry experience
• At least 1 year experience operating and working with Graco hydraulic piston pumps or industrial pneumatic diaphragm pumps in an industrial painting environment.
• At least 1 year experience in Industrial Spraying Systems
• Capable of efficiently lifting and maneuvering large pieces of timber (up to 6 meters in length) repeatedly and at speed ensuring consistent productivity
• NCEA Level 1 or equivalent
• Knowledge of timber grading and quality control
• Knowledge of timber treatments
• Be able to work efficiently to meet uptime requirements
